Life's A Peach In Stonewall Texas

Stonewall, Texas offers a peachy, smooth weekend.  Known as the Peach Capital of Texas, Stonewall, Texas is famous for  its excellent wines and mouth watering peach jams.   Stonewall is also the birth place to President Lyndon B. Johnson .  In  Stonewall, Texas, its famed streets, parks and landmarks are marked with the past and copious agricultural goods.

For a delightful Texas rental, The Homestead Bed and Breakfast at Becker Vinyards will convey the Texas enchantment you are  looking for and delight your taste buds with their delectable wines and scrumptious foods.  Richard and Bunny Becker have  renovated the Peese log cabin and the décor is country and accented with antiques.  In the living room, there is a charming  wooden couch and a potbelly stove-top. There are two staircases, one in the interior and one outside the cabin, to the eaves, where a  comfy queen size bed sits.  As an extra exceptional touch to this bed and breakfast, Richard and Bunny have planted a  lavender pasture, where the aromas saturate the atmosphere and provide a stunning purple view.

Another magnificent bed breakfast is The Villa on Grape Creek Vinyards.  Newly renovated, this bed and breakfast  gives a more contemporary feel with a wonderful view of Grape Creek.  Take a saunter through the vineyard, visit their tasting room  and the winery, and enjoy the tastes and aromas of the area.  A few other recommended places to visit are the Rose Hill Manor,  Inn on Grape Creek, Sleepy Cat Inn, and the LBJ Ranch Guest House or The Italian Place.

Fresh peaches and peach jam are always available at Burg’s Corner.  Located at 15194 US Hwy 290 East in Stonewall, Texas,  Burg’s Corner is a charming store bursting of newly picked picked peaches, candles, jams, and other mouth watering items to take home  to your bed and breakfast or as a fantastic gift.  Gold Orchards, Inc. and Vogel Orchard are two more distinguished places to visit  to walk through the fields and acquire more great produce.  During the summer month of June, the yearly Peach JAMboree and  Rodeo is a local affair that hosts a parade, crowning of the Peach Queen, a rodeo and other activities.

Guided tours of the Lyndon B. Johnson Park can commence off with a small walk to The Boyhood Home, or a stroll along paths to  old log homes and old west antiques, then end perhaps with a 25 minute tour of the Texas White House.  The majority of the events  and attractions at Stonewall, Texas are focused on the unbelievable life story of President Johnson as well as the  tasteful winery it offers.

If a car rolls over, can it kill?

I just read a piece of a guy who was killed because he made a wrong turn, ended up in the shoulder lane, and the car rolled over into an almond orchard/field, but landed on its wheels...
i just was wondering how someone can literally die in such a way....i mean if you're wearing your seatbelt, shouldn't u be ok?
I'm not sure if he was wearing a seatbelt...

Roll overs are no joke. Any car crash for that matter.

I was in a single car roll over almost 10 years to the day ago (sept. 15th 2000)

I was in a little toyota celica GT, 22R 4 cyl, auto. I went around a curve alittle too fast, one of the rear disc breaks locked up (think rotor cracked and pad caught the crack)

Car went hard to one side, I tried to steer out of it, over corrected I guess and car was now going hard other way, sideways down the road. G force took over, tires couldnt grip any more

Car started rolling side over side. Rolled 2.5 times before it ejected me from car, out through driver side window. I fly across the air about 30' and watched as the car rolled the rest of the round, and crashed down on the roof.

I remember trying to walk back home (only happened a mile from home, I was just trying the car out as I was fixing to put it up for sale)

Next thing I knew I woke up covered in blood at the local ER. My dad filled me in on what had happed (20 min pasted by and I didnt come back so he thought car broke down so he went looking for me and seen car upside down in ditch, skid marks on road for atleast 50 feet, etc, then found me in a ditch)

I wasnt wearing my seatbelt and thats what saved my life. The top was crushed so far down, he couldnt even reach inside the window to get the keys out of it. Plus wiper and tree limb was poked through windsheild right where my hed would have been.

I was in the ER for 4 days, 2 days in ICU and have ever lasting damage from that crash.

My skull was cracked in 3 places, had air and blood on my brain, and major damage to the left brachial plexus (nerve bundle in shoulder)

No use of left fingers, left hand, or wrist. Limited use of forarm, elbow and shoulder.

Even 10 years later, I still can't use the fingers on my left hand, or hand it's self. I have massive muscel lose in that arm.

I had to re learn how to do everything one handed. Which in it's self aint easy. The 1st 2 years was very hard. Pain like you couldnt dream of (doctor had me on 6 loratab 10's per day),Depression, Even tired suicide but I guess someone or something was watching over me. My gun jammed (1st time ever)

That was my wake up call. The very next day, I sold both of my guns, bought a project car and started re teaching my self how to do auto work, fab work, welding, etc one handed.

Being doing great since.

So yes moral to story. Roll overs are no joke.
