What is Dermatitis Eczema Incisively?

Eczema or dermatitis eczema is a skin condition characterized by dryness and redness of the skin. Other symptoms do accompany the ailment, too, such as repeated rashes, tissue swelling, the appearance of crusts, cracking of the skin as well as blister formation and even bleeding. Sometimes in the healed skin areas, a temporary skin discoloration may appear. It is only rarely that scarring occurs. Actually, dermatitis eczema represents an acute phase of eczema.

One in five people is affected by dermatitis eczema at least once in a lifetime. There are several factors contributing to the condition, which explains the various patterns specific to the disease. Eczema, dermatitis or eczematous dermatitis are terms that refer to the same health problem. This condition can be chronic, acute or both. Chronic eczema or dermatitis is manifest on a longstanding irritable area and it is often darker than its surrounding area; it is thickened and very much scratched. Acute eczema usually evolves from a very aggressive rash accompanied by blisters and inflammation. The state in between the two described above, is known as sub-acute eczema.

Studies indicate the fact that stress seems to aggravate dermatitis eczema by acting directly on the normal immune system. There are several kinds of dermatitis eczema and they count atopic dermatitis, irritant contact dermatitis, nummular dermatitis, dry skin, allergic contact dermatitis, gravitational dermatitis, seborrhoeic dermatis and so on. In treating this condition it is very important to identify and tackle the causing factors. Therefore, the treatment will vary depending on the type of dermatitis eczema and the and the causes behind it.

Here are some treatment and prevention suggestions for successfully tackling with dermatitis eczema: proper bathing, wearing loose cotton clothes, permanent moisturizing of the skin, the application of topical steroids, the avoidance of irritant substances, the administration of antibiotics and antihistamines, as well as other treatments like systemic steroids, photo-therapy, azathioprine and more complicated ones for severe cases. Replace bathing with showers and use only a mild cleanser or soap that contains no detergent at all.

It is also good to wear soft cool clothes and to stay away from wool. Moreover, do not expose your skin to dust, water, detergents, solvents and try not to get injured. Moisturize skin after bathing and use only perfume-free products to alleviate the itching. In case you administrate a topical steroid cream or ointment, make sure to use it carefully and according to instructions. Antibiotics will be recommended by doctors if your dermatitis eczema is caused or complicated by some infection. Antihistamines will prove especially useful at night to to alleviate the itching.

I'm looking for non-steel wool cleaning pads. I purchased some two years ago but can't find any now.?

They were just like steel wool soap pads but weren't steel so they don't rust and they worked almost as well as the steel ones.

Bronze wool pads are made and graded like steel wool pads and are available in boating stores and some hardware stores. They are for wood finishing mainly, so are not preloaded with soap. Of course there are those coily metal "sponges" like copper kate that are available everywhere, but are not really the same as steel or bronze wool.
